And on the zillionth day, the Lord said, "Let Lindsay finally complete a Swoon block." And she did.
JEEZ I feel like it's taken me forever to get to this point. I haven't had a lot of time for sewing, so I've been slowly, slowly, slooowwwwllyyyy working on this quilt. I think it took me a week just to get all the fabric cut. But I have to say that I really love this block and am super excited about getting to snuggle under this thing when it's all finished!
My background "white" is a Moda Bella Solid called "Feather" which is like a whiter-ivory color. Not too creamy, not too white, not too grey... I LOVE it, it's my new favorite white for sure. I got it from Pink Chalk Fabrics (which is my go-to online fabric shop) but I guess I bought their entire stock because they don't have it for sale right now ;)
The pink is Far Far Away III, and I have no clue what the polkadots are. It was just a big scrap I had leftover from a long time ago. It's hard to tell in these pictures but the spots are a little bit metallic!
I've decided that my 1/4" presser foot is not my friend, so I'm reuniting with my oldschool all-purpose foot for the next block. All of the fabrics in this block are different weights, which didn't exactly make things easy, but I think I can definitely do a better job with my points.
I really love how big these blocks are (24''.) I want to make some big Euro-sized pillows now! The want-to-do list is never-ending.
Oh yeah! And will you pretty please vote for Amanda's Spooky Swoon quilt?! Pieced by Amanda, quilted by me... it made it into the top 10! Now it's being voted on by the "public" (the internet) and I think it is definitely in the runnings for first! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
