Poor little Vada is afraid of the dark. I'm pretty sure she picked it up watching Yo Gabba Gabba... You know, the one where Muno is afraid of the dark and Foofa helps calm him down ;) Seriously though, I know it's a natural human instinct to be afraid of the dark (thanks, Elyse) but I don't know any other way she would know about the word "dark." Kids pick up on everything! Speaking of which, Vada said her first cuss word the other day... the "S" word. Thankfully, she just repeated Greg saying it and didn't use it in a sentence during normal conversation, although I'm sure that's going to happen in no time... Ha.
She was telling me "lights on, mama!" before bed so I started letting her sleep with her nightlight on. I thought she wanted it on just because... (you know, kids are just particular sometimes.) But then one morning she woke up early and we were walking downstairs before the sun was fully up and she was acting really scared and saying "dark mama!" That's when I knew. She's such a scaredy cat little girl... I think it's sweet though. Plus, I don't blame her, I'm still kind of afraid of the dark, too :)
