I really wanted my daily photo to be of my cousin Melissa today. We went to her bridal shower and I was good and remembered my camera, but left my memory card in my laptop... uuuuuggghhhh! The shower was really nice and it was fun to visit some extended family who I don't get to see very often.
After the shower, we went to a quilt store by the beach so I could get some fabric for my next quilt project. I went in there without a plan at all, but decided to go with Kaffe Fassett (they had a really great collection) and this colorbrick quilt pattern that I've been looking at for a while. I'm going to do white sashing, and I'll figure out the backing and binding once I'm finished with the quilt top. While we were in the shop, a woman came in who had just driven there from Roanoke! (Like I said, seriously no fabric places in Roanoke. It's pathetic.) Small world :) I'm really exited about this quilt - I can't wait to start it.
After that, we stopped by Williams-Sonoma so I could spend the gift card my brother got me for Christmas. I used the $120 from my brother (plus a little of my own cash) and got two Wüsthof Classic knives on sale. Greg was a little irritated that I got two measly knives for almost $200... But we don't own a single decent knife, and it was kind of like paying $50 for $240 worth of awesomeness. I'm sure he'll understand once he uses them... hopefully? :)
